The 22 Series Motor Vehicles were launched in November 1933 although pictures of them appeared in the Meccano Magazine as early as April 1933. They were the first vehicles in the range that became Dinky Toys. The initial 6 toys were originally all cast in lead alloy. They were rebranded as Dinky Toys in April 1934. The original 22a and 22b Cars, the first in the range of Dinky Toys were superseded by the 22g and 22h Streamilned Cars based on the Chrysler Airflow. The 22c Motor Truck was replaced by a one piece casting. The 22d Delivery Van was replaced by the 28 Series Delivery Vans carrying advertising initially using the same two-piece lead casting. The 22e Tractor and 22f Army tank remained in production until the War.
