This article describes the types and styles of Tyre Rack that may be confused or sold as Dinky Toys.
Introduction
The following image shows a selection of the Tyre Racks that may be found on sales at Internet Auction Sites, Swap Meets etc. The list is not necessarily exhaustive, but only three seem to appear regularly.
Dealers on Internet sites regularly offer the red racks below as Dinky Toys.
This article covers those metal signs Tyre Racks manufactured by the UK Meccano Ltd Company, Dinky Toys and other manufacturer’s production.

Identification
The Dinky Toys Tyre Rack is green, has Dunlop decals and is clearly marked on the inside of the back Struts, “Dinky Toys” and “Made in England”
If it doesn’t have these markings it is NOT a Dinky Toy.
